Twin Valkyrs Made Easy
Hey there ladies and gentlemen of the internet, I know one boss that has been a thorn in everyone’s side, the dreaded twin Valkyrs. But, through parses and word of mouth there has come a discovery that though there was an attempt of a nerf, has been worked around. Now this strat does take some planning, but in the end this is a way to do the Twin Valkyrs without needing to dodge balls and with minimal switching of targets. and generally a fun time.
I. Positioning and Setup:
First of all, you need 2 tanks, each the opposite colour of the Valkyr they are tanking. You want to get the melee to go white and the casters to go dark and position yourself like this:
Not necessarily so exact, but the dps and healers all pile up near the instance entrance with the tanks slightly ahead tanking. Their job is to soak up as many balls heading towards the main group as possible as well as tank. Additional dps could be used to help if need be. You will need at least 2 pallies with aura mastery and about 6 healers total. Shaman healers and Holy priests if you can, their AoE heals are your friend.
II. Shields:
The Valkyrs put up shields and try to heal, either one will do this. The process is simple, when a bubble comes up all dps will switch and attack the ad regardless of their colour. The DpS being split between colours should be enough to break the bubble and of course interrupt the heal. THESE CANT GO OFF EVER IT IS A WIPE ESSENTIALLY. Make sure all dps switches fast and hits him hard, this is a good time to use stuff like cooldowns and heroism.
III. Vortexes:
This is a time when your raid will pick up a lot of damage and take a lot as well. Make sure your two pallies are set up and one has the shadow aura and other has a fire aura up. When the black valkyr vortexes, the paladin with shadow aura up will aura mastery and when the white valkyr vortexes, the one with the fire aura will aura mastery. This will make life much easier on you while you heal those taking damage.
That is basically the jist of what went down. It worked for us and hopefully sometime next week I will have a video for you guys to check out. So try it out tell me what you think. Should work for normal and heroic.

I’m sorry but it seems a little bit retarded.
We’ve wasted 2 weeks on wipes trying to figure out the best tactic. But then we’ve found this movie – http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=124733
This positioning worked for us just fine. There were 7 healers in our raid. There are only 4 people actively trying to catch the balls +2 tanks helping a little bit. Divine sacrifice is used on every vortex, so nobody dies when they’re on their way to switch the Essence. When the first shield comes up use trinkets and other CDs, and heroism on the second one.

Yeah that is more or less the standard strat. The idea I have here cuts a lot of the human error of it though. I think it should make more sense when I fraps it.

Tristan, Twin Valkyrs is my favorite fight in ToGC. It has some interesting mechanics which makes this fight unique. And you’re trying to turn this fight into “tank&spank”.

means less reliance on other people to not screw up which is always nice. And more wipes to spend on Anub’Arak and getting tributes is always a bonus in my mind.
