How Tristan would do Val’Anyr

There is a bit of a talk going around about the weapon of legendary proportions. A legendary healing mace is now possible through getting 30 fragments and doing a nice and long quest chain. As a fan of loot council I would start off with a much theorycrafting as possible:

1. Eliminate non healers (duh)
2. Theorycrafting-wise, it’s best for a paladin, so if you have paladins who deserve it make them roll for it
3. If not get the healers the council thinks deserve it to roll.

That’s about it, but I have a question for YOU readers! What would you do if a fragment drops, and there is someone in the guild who just transferred into the guild that day. He is good, but very new and this is your first fragment, and he has a fragment from an older guild. Would you make him wait?

Instead of having 30 pieces spread out among several healers, we’ve decided to go one healer at a time.

We (our loot council) have decided to give all fragments to our most dedicated healer. Not only is the weapon great, but it’s also sort of a status symbol for the guild as a whole. So we picked someone who represents our guild well, has been around for a very long time, and has missed very few raids. However, it comes with a condition: this healer is not allowed to roll on any other healer weapons while we are working toward the staff. We’ve also assigned a backup healer who is nearly as qualified (in terms of length in the guild, etc) to pick them up should the 1st choice not be around.

Yeah I think all of us are giving all the fragments to one dedicated healer. We found ourselves in a situation where despite holy paladins being in the raid we decided to take 4 or 5 of our dependable good healers who are always there rolling for the legendary. As for the status thing and representative, I think our guild works very machine like and we don’t get that Guild identity thing going too often sadly.
