Sunwell

Last night, my guild took us into sunwell for some inexplicable reason. I really liked the instance when I was Enhancement at level 70 and I wanted to talk about it. I had to drop out at Eredar twins because I had homework I needed to do.

Trash:
The trash was fun in Sunwell. At 80 it could be AoE’d down, but at 70 you had to CC up to 5 mobs and focus fire runners down and kill them in a certain order. It was some of the most involved trash you ever ran into which actually made Sunwell annoying once it was all on farm.

Kalecgos:
Really fun fight. Lot’s of stuff goes on at the same time. The end goal to kill the demon in the ethereal realm that is possessing Kalecgos. This involves some of the first implementations of phasing into the game. To protect the tank and withstand all the stacking dots Kalecgos throws at you, you need to have your raid rotate into the ethereal realm.

Brutallus:
Everything Patchwerk should have been. The fight is a major dps race just like the abomination, but his explosion AoE he puts on random people and the stacking damages of meteor slash make the fight a lot more interesting and involved. The tanks even need to trade off to avoid dying. At level 80 this fight was still fun and involved.

Felmyst:
The evil crop duster boss. She is a skeletal dragon with two rotating phases two her fight. One stage she is on the ground and does some interesting AoEs where random people will explode from some energy beam or from a gas nova. This all needs to be healed or dispelled. In stage two she flies around and will drop a line of gas over the battlefield (crop duster) and if you find yourself in this gas you will be permanently mind controlled and will have to be put down.

Eredar Twins:
Oh my, this is a nasty fight. Conflag that kills the raid if the person it’s cast on is near the raid combined with shadowfury makes this an interesting match. It requires interesting positioning and strategic movement. Get out of the fire, when you will become the fire

Muru:
Been a while since I last fought Muru. The fun thing about Muru is that he is the first fight where one has to balance their DpS between the boss and the adds. Another fun addition is that as a Shaman it is a raid boss where I have to purge.

Kil’Jaeden:
This fight has so many things going on at the same time I can’t even begin to comprehend. There is exploding people, AoEs, adds made from fellow raiders (Keeping purge ready to go in case a priest is copied). A big killing explosion that needs to be mitigated by a shield that has to be precisely timed by a guy controlling a blue dragon. Last fun thing is the haste buff these dragons make you. When you defeat him, there is a great cut scene you can enjoy.
